Yes, they ARE!
I have been saying that for forever, but no, no one wants to believe me.
Garden gnomes pretend to be inanimate, but actually walk about at night, creating mischief, breaking into cars, and smoking cigarettes - you can see the butts on your front walk in the morning.
It's possible I have them confused with teenagers, but I don't think so.
