Caledon, I Have Returned!

I am rather dismayed at the fate that has befallen the town of Steelhead. I returned only to be able to claim what was left of my operations (a stash here, a stash there).

I found myself in need of a new lair base of operations and traversed the lands of Caledon until I found a perfect little parcel in Stormhold. Water access? CHECK. Out of the way? CHECK. A new beginning (yet again. Oh, the life of an independent mad scientist)? CHECK!

Gather together minions and secure the crate creature and squiddy thing, we are moving back to Caledon!

To-Do List

I sat at the warehouse and thought about all of the things on my to-do list:
  1. Reprimand minions
  2. Use a minion as an example
  3. Order new beakers
  4. Get the doom ray out of the shop
  5. Feed the squiddy thing
  6. Write letter of demands to The Elf
  7. Threaten my enemies
  8. Threaten my friends
  9. Assess lair for weaknesses
  10. Reprimand minions if weaknesses are found
  11. Invent a "fire extinguisher"
An evil genius' work is never done...

Contemplations on Past Campaigns

I have mentioned that I have been slacking a bit lately while here in Steelhead. Perhaps it is all of that godawful fresh air, the nice demons, the things to keep me occupied otherwise...who knows? Hmm...I have not been away for a while...perhaps this would be a good time after the full moon occurs. God, I would hate to travel during that time of the month.

If I managed to destroy one home under pretty normal circumstances more or less, can you imagine if I was actually "up to something" Hmm...*cackles*

Wait...are the fish nipping my tail?! Oh, I know what I'm having for dinner tonight!

"Kaboom!" Or, "How I Singed My Whiskers"

I could only stand and wait on the warehouse roof as the full moon rose over Port Harbor, its waters covered in a light fog. I ran a claw through my unpinned hair and sighed, resigned to the fact that I was very likely forever changed by that regeneration serum that saved my life many months ago. I probably would have been better off if I had been allowed to Transition instead and move on to my fifth life. Although knowing the Masons, I should just be glad it didn't make me grow an extra arm or some other unsightly aberration. It probably helps that parts of me are not...

Anyway, I have become more used to the physical changes such as the swiftness, strength, and keener senses than normal, but what it does to my mind? That, I seem to be unable to control very well. On these werecat nights, my normal ability to keep my emotions in check becomes negated and everything becomes a swirling confusing whirl of emotion and instinct combined...
Since I have been in Steelhead, I have been quiet. I have made no campaigns of late. No machinations as normal. That is...unlike me...and I am sure that I will be hearing from my Hidden Paw superiors soon. I know that this is not what they want of their Western Fang. I expect a missive at any time. My mind has not been here though. I have had other thoughts on it as of late. I wondered about the fate of the purple-haired demon who brought me fish and something kicked in.

I hissed and jumped down from my perch and rummaged through the warehouse until I found what I was looking for. Moving swiftly through the dark Steelhead streets, most of its residents now quiet or asleep after the town meeting earlier, my strength accorded to me for just this one night made carrying my burden even easier. I stopped before The Elf's home, my muddled mind enraged at the thought that he possibly had a hand in his demon brother being taken away. It made it even easier to toss what I carried onto his porch...I licked a fang, smiling with satisfaction as the brass chicken did its work. A bit of something from a minor kerfluffle in Kentucky (something to do with a renegade Colonel), I knew it'd come in handy. When I was sure that the house was in a smouldering rubble, I thought I would return to the warehouse. I needed to lie down now. My head, it felt so wrong...I heard the shouts of "Fire!" and "Oh no, my good china!" as I slipped away. I did notice one unusual thing though--despite the destruction of her home, Miss Tensai seemed to be taking it all in relatively resourceful feline stride...

On An Angry Mob's Good Side For Once

Usually angry mobs mean a problem or botched experiment gone awry...whatever was I thinking when I agreed to go to a dance surrounded by pitchforks and torches the other night? And a purple demon stepped on my tail. As it still hurts a bit, I am going to try not to scratch him next time that I see him. Yes, I know...he's a demon. That won't do much good to him, but it'll make me feel good!

'Twas a bit of an enjoyable diversion though. Some seem to think I should get out more. That perhaps all of those fumes, chemicals and sparking wires are not altogether good for me. They should be more concerned about what is good for them, not me! I am an evil genius and criminal mastermind! I am supposed to be busy in my lab inventing things and plotting and scheming and lurking in the shadows! Anyway...I have some business that I need to handle soon. Something that I must go to a hidden place to retrieve--I mean, deal--with.

*mutters to herself and rubs her tail*

Yes, I Have a Theme Song: Skullcrusher Mountain by Jonathan Coulton

I am used to being on the receiving end of them, but I thought I'd brave the pitchforks and torches and attend the angry mob-themed dance last night in Steelhead. While there, Sheriff Fuzz played a favorite song of mine that many agreed was rather...appropriate:

The lyrics are rather spot on. Did he get ahold of my journal somehow?

A Rare Thing

I am smiling. Such a rare thing indeed that if that doesn't make you nervous it should.

It is after a rather important realization that brought me pure, unadulterated, fiendish glee.

What caused me such mirth? Such joy? Wouldn't you like to know.

Villains Aether Salon in Babbage

On Sunday I attended the Aether Salon in Babbage Palisade, hosted by Miss Viv Trafalgar and Miss Serafina Puchkina with the Baron and Doctor Obolensky as panelists. The topic? Villains. Why else would I leave the lab? While the Baron rather protests being labelled as a such, Doctor O embraces his villain status with a flourish. As he very well should! Why would one not want to be? Here is an excerpt from the transcript which you may find here:
"[14:34] Doctor Obolensky: ...Now then, I suppose you are all thinking "Why, oh why, is my life plagued with Doctor Obolensky, that horrible villain and stylish man about town? Well, the answer is rather simple. You lead boring, ordinary lives. And yet, you lack the drive, the vision, and the ability, to crush your neighbors with giant mechanical lobsters. So of course, someone has to do it for you, or you'd all end up with nothing to talk about. Now then...I'm a genius, and I could have chosen, at some point, to follow the path of the hero. But, let's face it. Although better than you rabble, heroes have a significant down side. Do heroes get to ride about in giant mechanical lobsters, crushing buildings beneath their oversized claws? No! Being a villain is simply more fun."

I appreciate a fellow villain who "gets" it. He seemed rather fond of mentioning giant lobsters though, which led to the following exchange:
[15:32] Treloar Parx: Doctor O, what commission are you receiving on future sales of Dr. Alter's lobsters?
[15:32] Doctor Obolensky: Ten percent, and a bulk discount for orders over a dozen. Actually, I wasn't even aware she made giant lobsters.

Well, now you know sir...may tock lobsters trample the world! *cackles*

From the Mouth of My Sister Muffy...

You know that character in Jane Austen novels? The one who is silly and naive--an innocent who is ever-so-slightly daft? Well, that is my twin sister Prudence ("Muffy") in a nutshell.

My favorite Muffy-isms:
"Oh, Malegatto...but did you REALLY have to eliminate them?"

"Malegatto, you should settle down and find a nice, handsome, respectable tom to have kittens with. I know a nice stripey fellow for you, and I know how much you like golden eyes..."

"I picked some flowers today! They were so pink and yellow. I like yellow. I saw a pony and a rainbow and fluffy clouds!"

"Malegatto, minions are people too!"

"Do you have to take over the world today? Here, have a cupcake."

Muffy: "But does the automaton thingie NEED to destroy things?"
Me: "Yes"
Muffy: "Not the pretty ponies!"
Me: "DEFINITELY the pretty ponies!"

*sighs*

I Supposed I Am Amused...

I do not know how I missed this rather hilarious holiday tale by Miss Rhianon Jameson involving me, but I must admit...she has me pegged rather well--particularly at the end...*chuckles*

I managed to get through the day without threatening a single soul yesterday, although I am a bit disappointed that I did not get my tool set, new doom ray, Tesla coil, shark, giant automaton or catnip mousie.

However, I did find quite a LOT of coal in my bin...

Oh My Yes...A Tock Lobster

I was a bit hungry when I created this...It is the beginnings of a tock lobster automaton of sorts and is quite a work in progress. What does it do? Wouldn't you like to know? Oh, and this is the small one. In the meanwhile, I shall leave you with this fantastic strip from the comic papers. I laughed as it is a scenario I know all too well.

Deeds, Not Words

Oh come now...Let us just say that I am looking forward to my move to Steelhead.

Staking My Claim

I have decided to put in for a new parcel of land in the upcoming region of Steelhead Port Harbor. I do believe it will be a good fit as mad science seems to be encouraged. 'Tis along the water, which is good...although I have not had a fire in the lab in quite a while now...As I was in Town Hall, I heard some rather unmistakable squeaking and was excited to see a resident rat. He looked rather tasty actually, but I had already eaten before my arrival. I did consider taking him home for a snack later. Perhaps another time...

An Even Bigger Problem...

Oh...dear...God...

I took a short trip to Babbage and upon my return found that the mutated squiddy thing mutated yet again...Once I determined that it would not eat me (good) or my neighbors (a pity), I was able to focus on other matters. In the spirit of the autumn season, I have set out a few pumpkins. If anything, I hope they will distract folks from the huge tentacle-y thing that seems to like being in my front yard...

A Musick Deep Within

I work silently in my lab. There is the bubbling of liquids, the clanking of tools against metal...all music to my ears. Something deep within me drives me to create. Cogs and pistons, brass and iron. The melody of invention and progress with science as its harmony...I can hear it as clear as a symphony. The kitty revolution will not be telegraphed...

ETK New Releases: Tiny Mad Scientist's Chemistry Lab and 2-Prim Tesla-style Coil

Evil Tiny Kitty Laboratories has released two new products for your perusal...

Are you a tiny scientist who feels like blowing something sky high or creating a few "experiments"? Here is a tiny mad scientist chemistry lab table complete with flasks and test tubes, just for you! It also comes with a flask filled with an unidentifiable liquid for you to hold... Why should prim counts keep you from owning your very own simple Tesla coil-style electrical device? No Victorian, steampunk or retro-tech home or mad scientist/evil genius lab should be without one, don't you think? Comes with touch-controlled sound/volume control.

The better to shock the daylights out of someone, but I would not "necessarily" advocate such a thing...

A Day at the Lab...

I thought I would get some work done at the Lab today...First, the creature in the crate got riled up again. I kicked the crate and told it to pipe down its ruckus!
I looked up at the portrait of Moriarty--one of my mentors and colleague--and thought about how much I missed him since the Reichenbach incident...
I rubbed my paws together in glee as I got to work. What new creation can I make today?

Scouting Out Caledon Downs

I visited the Steampunk Resource Centre in Caledon Downs today. Lovely place. Gave me ideas of other places to expand the organization...Afterwards, I had a closer look at the clock tower. Upon discovering its Tesla coil atop it, I purred with delight with every crackle. What are these Caledonians up to? Does this tower serve another purpose? But alas, I could not alight upon it to have a closer inspection of its inner workings...Clever.

Sightseeing in Steelhead

In the spirit of the current non-aggression pact, I thought that perhaps I would explore Steelhead City and Harborside a bit today for some sightseeing and not to destroy it. *sighs*

I arrived at the main train station. As the town is on the alert to look out for a tiny kitty, I thought I would visit in my larger neko form instead...I passed the Sheriff's house en route to Harborside...
I walked through its streets, which seem to be home to many of the Baron Wulfenbach's staff, Jagers and emigres. My minion Mr Quan soon joined me, reeking a bit of whale blood from his most recent whaling expedition. He had been concerned at my travelling alone, forgetting that I could take out the whole town if I so pleased...
We were soon met by Dogg Food and his elf, Steelhead's manager Mr Eclipse. We had a rather lively discussion involving "salmon" and Mr Eclipse's ability to make a fruitcake for which "dense" is an understatement. I could use one as a doorstop at the lab. Either that or a secret ingredient for an experiment. It seems possible to do both with it...

Let Us Get Something Straight...

I am not aligned with anyone...
...And I equally dislike just about everyone.

My actions and adventures are my own and my stories to tell. If you do not like it? See the above statement.

You are all welcome to be my sub-minions...Have a good day.
